The womens empowerment project

Our Women Empowerment Project focuses on: Skill Building, Women Empowerment, Mental Health, Cultural Sensitivity and tackling social isolation and loneliness. The project funder is The National Lottery Fund. Read more>>





The annual refugee festival tournament is an initiative of GAU in collaboration with the Scottish Unity Football League. The maiden edition dates back to July 2012. The aim of the tournament is to use football as a means of promoting anti-discrimination by providing a platform, which permits multi-ethical interaction eliminating “stereo-typical barriers” such as race, religion, nationality, age, sexual orientation and other factors. We at Glasgow Afghan United bring the community together by supporting refugees and migrants from ethnic minority groups helping them reach their potential, make them aware of their culture as well as the Scottish Culture.

Our services include: Dari language classes, Pashto language classes, Esol classes, employment workshops, youth and family support services, drop-in and telephone advice. Read more >>
